About PHANTOM

The right to communicate, by design
Mission

Communication has become constant and essential — and at the same time increasingly restricted, filtered, and watched. PHANTOM is being built so that people can stay in contact and speak freely regardless of circumstances, limitations, or borders. Access to private communication should never depend on permission.

How it's built

Built assuming the network is hostile.

Messages are end-to-end encrypted with a custom Double Ratchet implementation over libsodium, using ED25519 identity keys generated on your device. Sealed-sender-style envelopes reduce sender metadata exposed to the relay. The relay still observes timing, message size, authenticated sessions, and delivery destinations.

To stay reachable under censorship, the app routes through several transports and falls back automatically when a route is blocked. REALITY changes the wire pattern but does not provide anonymity or guaranteed censorship bypass. Everything is open-source under AGPL-3.0-or-later.

The assumptions, adversaries, and out-of-scope cases are written down in full — read the threat model →

On-device keys

Identity keys never leave your phone.

Reduced metadata exposure

Relay visibility and remaining correlation risks are documented in the threat model.

Routes around blocks

Multiple transports, automatic fallback.

Open and inspectable

AGPL-3.0-or-later source and security boundaries are public; independent audit is still pending.

Who builds it

Independent development with transparent funding.

PHANTOM is built by Vladislav Liudvig through Willen LLC, a Wyoming company formed in June 2025. The project is currently pre-revenue and is seeking mission-aligned grants and pre-seed investment for external security review, beta testing, iOS development, and operating runway.

Funding will not change the AGPL license or remove the published threat model, known issues, and security boundaries.
